A circus show written and directed by Veronica Melis
2009
“… Rosso di sera is a strong and complete show. The poetic universe and the Italian style of the director Veronica Melis subtly reaches its goal…”
– Le Devoir, Isabelle Paré June, 2009
Rosso di sera (“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight”), serves as a metaphor for that special moment in which everyone can give free rein to their aspirations. Inspired by the theme of one’s capacity for reinvention, displaced individuals migrate in an attempt to reclaim both their souls and identities. This voyage is portrayed by the wanderings of those plagued by doubts, passions, and dreams who were hoping for a world where poetry, light and imagination would provide a new direction, as it was in old tales.
